What happens when young people are heard
Donors: Harrow Change Makers: John Lyon's Charity, Harrow Council, Harrow School, Deo Duce Foundation and Orley Farm.
In 2024, this collective funding group invested £226,863
into 21 local organisations, directly supporting over 2,250 young people. Donors include the Deo Duce Foundation, Harrow School, John Lyon’s Charity, Orley Farm School, ES Broadcast, and the Harrow Borough-Based Partnership — each playing a vital role in shaping opportunities grounded in local need. Guided by insights from nearly 7,000 young people through the HAY Harrow survey, the group supported projects focused on emotional well-being, physical activity, poverty support, safety, and creative opportunities. This collaborative model, facilitated by Young Harrow Foundation, demonstrates how shared funding can achieve wider reach, deeper impact, and more innovative responses than any one donor could deliver alone.
For 2025, the Harrow Change Makers have reaffirmed their commitment with a collective investment of £170,000 to support new and emerging projects for children and young people. This year’s funding priorities are shaped by the latest insights from almost 8,000 young people, identifying key issues such as mental health, digital wellbeing, SEND support, transitions, and community safety. The continued dedication of the Change Makers reflects a powerful belief: that when local donors unite, they can open doors, strengthen communities, and ensure young people across Harrow have the support and opportunities they deserve.
