Chapman Charitable Trust

The funding is for registered charities which work on improving mental and physical health, particularly for children, on alleviating issues surrounding pollution and pesticides, on increasing accessibility to the arts and on sustaining the natural environment.

Grants are usually for £1,000 or £2,000, although larger grants will be awarded at the discretion of the Trustees in exceptional circumstances.

Registered UK charities can apply.

The Trust supports:

  • National charities, including Scottish charities, if they operate across the UK.
  • Local charities - only if their beneficiaries or activities are located in North Wales, Greater London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire.

Preference will be given to charities which address the root causes of problems and applications for research projects are welcomed.

Grants for care and counselling are normally awarded to organisations which seek to address underlying problems and where a small grant can make a real difference.

The next deadline for applications is 28 February 2026 (midnight).

The trustees meet twice a year, in March and September. Applications received before the beginning of those months will be considered at the relevant meeting.
