Garfield Weston Foundation

Who they support
The Foundation supports UK registered charities working within the UK in the areas of Welfare, Youth, Community, Arts, Faith, Environment, Education, Health and Museums & Heritage. The Trustees have a preference for charities directly delivering services and activities to those in need, and are especially keen to see applications from charities in the Welfare, Youth and Community sectors and also in regions of economic disadvantage.

What they fund
The Foundation awards grants for Capital, Project and Revenue costs. Where we already have a funding history with you, our Trustees may consider a multi-year request for up to three years, provided you can demonstrate that a longer term commitment will add value to your organisation's objectives.

Charities need to demonstrate that they are meeting a need effectively with clear outcomes and benefits, good leadership, sensible business plans and a commitment to excellence.

Please note that a grant is unlikely to be more than around 10% of the total costs of the budget.

How to apply

Once you have completed the Eligibility quiz, you can submit an application via their website.

A funding proposal is required – this should be a maximum of 10 sides of A4 including your budget and fundraising plan and any other relevant information.
