Originally from Northern Ireland, I moved to London over 30 years ago, working with children and young people in support of their right to play, working for a wide range of voluntary sector organisations across many London boroughs. Whilst my passionate belief in the importance of play in the lives of all children will never cease, I have always had an interest and commitment to the wider issues and challenges faced by the voluntary sector as a whole, especially around equity, recognition and funding. I was delighted to be the elected Chair of the Voluntary Sector Children and Youth Forum in Tower Hamlets for six of my ten years working there as the Director of PATH (Play Association Tower Hamlets) before coming to Harrow.
I really enjoy meeting people and exploring ways to support and enhance the amazing work carried out by committed individuals and teams, both voluntary and paid.
I am excited to be part of the Young Foundation concept and in developing our work to bring about positive and lasting change to the lives of children and families in Harrow.
