A new report highlighting the impact and the reach of the Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) programme in 2022 has been published by The Young Harrow Foundation.

In 2015, Young Harrow Foundation (YHF) introduced a new place-based model of support for the children and young people voluntary sector in Harrow. Seven years later, the charity has over 280 organisations locally in its network, and is helping the charity sector to thrive.

A partnership between Young Harrow Foundation, DVS Foundation, Harrow School and Harrow Council, has seen over £32,000 given out in retail vouchers to families across Harrow.

Over 1,000 free places are available for children and young people aged 5-16, at local clubs and activities this Easter holiday. Each space also includes a free nutritious meal, per day. To be eligible for the programme, families must be living or studying in Harrow and in receipt of (means-tested) free school meals.

A new website, directing people to local support and organisations that can help during the cost of living crisis, has been launched for Harrow.

Over 2,000 free places are available for children and young people at local holiday clubs and activities in Harrow, this Winter holiday. Each space also includes a free nutritious meal per day.

Harrow’s first Children & Young People Support Conference brought together over 150 professionals in the borough, from schools, charities and local authorities, to benefit young people.

Children and young people in Harrow can now access a wide range of free mental health and emotional support programmes thanks to a new partnership.

This Thursday - 15th of September - Jam Sandwich will be lighting up the stage in support of Mental Health for young people in Harrow. Their performance promises to be jam-full of rock and dance covers, with all the proceeds going to Young Harrow Foundation and the Charlie Waller Trust UK.

For this Summer’s HAF 2022 programme, Harrow have used the funding in an innovative new way to create a hospitality training scheme for local adults to take the first steps in finding a new career.
