Nomad is a community of caring young and ambitious individual’s, age 14-25 years old and our young leaders are up to 35 years old from a refugee and migrant background. The majority of us were and some still are fleeing from conflict and war within our motherland. We are the first generation of “Refugee Diaspora” from this Nomad has developed into a vibrant network of young people who originate from Sudan, Romania, Somalia, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, Poland, Morocco, Syria, Iraq, Cape Verde, Portugal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, United Kingdom, China, Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana and Bulgaria taking initiatives to help make positive change in their own lives and the wider community. Another element of our work is to create a space where true integration can take place. Within this we recognise the importance of training and supporting our young leaders in order to lead their own work with their peers.
So we are asking you to help us save our home, a small hub in Harrow. It’s a central hub for over 300 young people from refugee and migrant background each year supporting them with all aspects of their lives.
Nomad space is used as a drop in, one 2 one support, planning, organising, delivering, monitoring and evaluating projects. Is recourses centre where young people can come and use the phone, computer’s and use the printer for their work, use the internet to research jobs, fill in UCAS forms and job application forms.
