About Organisation

The Fitness and mental health programme helping secondary & college age pupils in Harrow.

We run school and community sessions with young people via one-to-one or small groups. We combine a tailored fitness programme with a safe space for young people to talk about their problems with a trusted adult.

This personalised approach boosts mental health and helps people live fitter, healthier and happier lives.

“We help young people who are suffering with anxiety, grief, anger issues or who are finding it difficult to engage or attend school.”

Exercise helps with:

  • Reducing depression
  • Managing stress and anxiety
  • Boosting fitness and self-esteem
  • Better sleep and cognitive function

Founder and head coach Matt Wolstenholme struggled with depression for years. He said: “I have used anti-depressants, cognitive behavioral therapy, and counselling. While there is a place for all of these, for me the best medicine has always been exercise."

As a master personal trainer with more than a decade’s experience, Matt set up FitMind to provide free, expert exercise sessions for the people who need them most
