About Organisation

We are a non-profit organisation providing specialist fitness training to people with mental health problems.

All our sessions are one-to-one and based on establishing an emotional connection, helping people exercise with empathy and expertise. This personalised approach boosts mental health and helps people live fitter, healthier and happier lives.

Exercise helps with:

  • Reducing depression
  • Managing stress and anxiety
  • Boosting fitness and self-esteem
  • Better sleep and cognitive function

Founder and head coach Matt Wolstenholme struggled with depression for years. He said: “I have used anti-depressants, cognitive behavioral therapy, and counselling. While there is a place for all of these, for me the best medicine has always been exercise."

As a master personal trainer with more than a decade’s experience, Matt set up FitMind to provide free, expert exercise sessions for the people who need them most.
