Live Music Now
About Organisation
For nearly 50 years, Live Music Now has worked alongside those with reduced access to live music, in care homes, schools, hospitals, hospices and community settings across the UK. Our approach to live performance is one of collaboration: listening to the participants and the people who support them to craft engaging concerts, creative music sessions and residency programmes.
Over 300 professional musicians underpin everything we do at Live Music Now. Our training and mentoring programmes encourage them to become flexible facilitators and communicators, providing them with skills they can use across their careers.
Working in partnership with schools to spark musical lives
Live Music Now offers fun, participatory activities focused on engagement, communication, pupil choice and voice. Our specialist professional musicians represent a wide range of musical styles and instruments. We train them to engage effectively with children and young people, including those with additional learning needs.
We know that many children and young people in special schools miss out on their entitlement to music. We know that schools often struggle to pay for music therapy, and so specialist classroom and one-to-one music learning sometimes just isn’t an option. It is our mission to help schools access inspiring specialist professional musicians who can bring both social and personal, as well as musical benefits to your pupils.
