About Organisation

Media Trust has supported over 20,000 young people to date, training them in multimedia journalism so they can tell their own stories and those of their communities. As well as giving young people practical tools, our programmes convert their talents and passions into confidence and skills to progress in further education, and employment and give a voice to the communities they live in. We offer a variety of free programmes such as:

  • Creativity Works (an intensive 10-week crash course of high-impact media masterclasses and employment skills training for media-focused young Londoners who are not in employment, education, or training).
  • Vlogstar Challenge - One 5-hour workshop and a chance to enter the resulting vlog into a competition, this programme aims to harness the passion and creativity of young people and provide them with the technical and communications skills they need to create content, develop their voice and share their passions with new audiences.
  • Breaking into the News - a competition that offers aspiring journalists from across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland the opportunity to create a local news report with support and advice from experienced journalists working in ten of ITV’s regional newsrooms
