About Organisation

Robotic Workshops 4 Schools (RW4S) is the not-for-profit arm of Engineering 4 Kids. RW4 schools want to ensure accessibility of engineering and coding workshops and regular in-school educational opportunities.

  • Primary and Secondary schools with high levels of Pupil Premium
  • Girls’ schools and groups (eg Brownies and Girl Guides)
  • SEN schools and organisations (eg SPACE)

Our Mission

To engage students in a variety of STEM activities and encourage them to view engineering and coding as valid career paths. To excite students through a wide variety of workshops, making these accessible to as many students as possible regardless of background, gender and ability. To educate students and their influencers in the benefits of STEM education, particularly engineering and coding.

Fulfilling Our Mission

Community Partnerships:

  • E4K work closely with schools and organisations in our local community.
  • Since our formation we have worked closely with local State schools, ensuring that their students can access our out of school provision- especially our School Holiday Camps and workshops.
  • We have also worked closely with Autism charities such as SPACE together with parents of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, to ensure that our provision is accessible to them.
  • We have specifically targeted girls’ schools and offered lower rates for workshops and holiday camps.

Taster Workshops for Schools:

  • E4K visits Primary Schools and delivers 3 to 4 introductory Robotic Build and Battle or Robotic Coding workshops in a school day.
  • Through, these workshops we can reach 200+ students in a single day- minimising the cost to schools and maximising impact.

Targeted Workshops for Schools:

  • E4K visits Primary and Secondary Schools and delivers half a day or a full day of bespoke workshops to a single year group.
  • We work closely with the Heads of Departments and Teachers to ensure that the workshops fully meet the needs of the students.
  • This is often funded through grants to the school, use of Pupil Premium funds or other specific funding.

After School Clubs:

  • E4K provides after-school clubs to a wide variety of schools at affordable pricing- ensuring maximum access to our facilities and skills.
  • Over the Pandemic these were curtailed but are now re-starting.

In-School Enrichments:

  • E4K is looking to introduce in-school enrichments as the 4th strand of our school provision- furthering our involvement in the community.
  • Through our workshops, we have begun to engage, excite and educate students in engineering and coding, with some children choosing to attend regular out of school clubs and camps.
  • E4K feels that the time is right to embed our provision more deeply and to have regular input into specific schools.
