About Organisation

Turtle Key Arts produces and devises original ground-breaking art to entertain and inspire. We believe that access to the arts helps to improve the quality of life by bringing people together, offering creative opportunities, social inter-action, confidence and self-esteem.

“Turtle Key Arts promote many initiatives and implement a series of measures to engage with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged parts of society.” - Everything Theatre

As creative producers we enable each project to reach its full artistic potential and ensure that participation and education is embedded at the heart of everything we do.

Our work has a UK and international reach through a wide variety of innovative projects with many different collaborators and partners, currently including the companies: Ockham's Razor, Amici Dance Theatre Company, Open Sky, AIK Productions, Kill the Cat and Oddly Moving; and recent collaborations with: English Touring Opera, Royal College of Music, The Wigmore Hall, National Portrait Gallery, Lyric Hammersmith, Opera North, The Royal Court Theatre and Oxford University.

We have played a committed role in advancing participation in the arts by disabled, disadvantaged and socially excluded people, and are widely recognised as a leader in this field, often charting new territories, such as Turtle Song for people with Dementia, Key Words for young people with Dyslexia, Art is Key for young people living with HIV and Turtle Opera, The Key Club, and Musical Portraits for young people on the Autism Spectrum and JOY Festival for disabled artists.

“Turtle Key Arts have a long-standing reputation in their role as creative producers advancing participation in the arts by disabled, disadvantaged and socially excluded people.” - Disability Arts
