What
The spoken word project is a dynamic platform designed to empower participants with the skills and confidence to craft and deliver compelling spoken word pieces.
Led by experienced facilitators, the course will delve into the art of lyric writing, metaphor, and imagery, while also exploring the intricacies of bar structure, rhythm, and performance techniques. As the project unfolds, participants will hone their creative expression and communication skills, culminating in a powerful performance of their pieces to peers and staff.
- There will be six online sessions led by a skilled lead artist and ex-prisoner facilitator.
- Participants will choose their preferred art form (acting, spoken word, or playwriting), and receive tailored guidance and support.
- The culmination of the sessions will be marked by a final sharing event, where participants can showcase their talents through either a live performance or a film created using recorded lyrics.
Following the completion of the projects, participants will have the opportunity to further engage with Synergy's young studio programme, which offers a range of creative projects on a longer-term basis.
This activity is fully booked. If you are a school let us know your interest for the future.
Support the Arts Funding Programme
The vision of this programme is to involve all communities in arts and culture and to give those children and young people who are not engaging in performing arts the voice and power to help shape local arts provision. This programme is possible with the funding support of John Lyon's charity, Harrow School, the Voluntary Action Harrow (VAH) networks and the Harrow Culture Forum.
