What

Beaver Scouts are the youngest members of Scouting, for Girls & Boys aged between 6 and 8 years old. Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. Beaver Scouts also take part in organised sleepovers, these are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home.

Weekly Meetings

Beavers meet term time on a Friday evening, and every week is different theme. The weekly programme, trips and camps are displayed online via the Parents Portal. Parents join in the fun by helping on the weekly rota or attending one of the many family events & camps.

During their time in the Colony, Beaver Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, from sailing to climbing. Our Beavers have met Guide Dogs, Bee Keepers, Paramedics, police Officers, Zumba Coaches and Jugglers. Participation, rather than meeting set standards, is the key approach, and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that Beaver Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements.

Uniform

Beaver Scouts may wear a turquoise sweatshirt with a Group scarf (often called a necker) and a maroon woggle, or one of another colour which identifies their Lodge or team.

Sessions are run by trained Leaders, and all our adults are DBS checked and follow strict safe guarding rules.
