About this event
HeadsUp is hosting a free online training session for Harrow’s professionals to build their knowledge and confidence to support young people with their mental health needs. The training will take place on multiple dates; please scroll down or click 'select dates' for details.
Outcomes
The training will provide an introduction to supporting children and young people or can act as a useful refresher. By the end of the session, you will have:
- Improved your understanding of mental health for young people
- Increased your confidence in recognising when a young person is in need of support
- Increased your confidence in talking to young people about mental health
- Improved your knowledge of mental wellbeing services available in Harrow and online, and how you can refer young people to them.
Who is this training for?
Any professional in Harrow who works with children & young people (aged c.5-16) and does not have training in mental health can benefit. School staff, charities, social enterprises, youth group leaders, volunteers and many more are welcome!
Who runs it?
This training will be delivered by Mind in Harrow and IAPT Talking Therapies. HeadsUp is a consortium of 5 charities in Harrow providing specialised mental health support to young people aged 11-25 who face additional barriers to accessing support. The consortium is managed by Mind in Harrow, who works with a team of young volunteers to deliver mental well-being educational workshops to young people in Harrow.
ABOUT LEVEL UP PROGRAMME
Level Up Youth Work is a free training and development programme aimed at front-line staff of any age working directly with children and young people in Northwest London.
