Counselling is also available in several community languages, helping make support more accessible.

What to expect

  • Confidential, supportive sessions tailored to you
  • Flexible support – short or long-term options
  • 50-minute sessions
  • A chance to talk through your situation and decide next steps with your counsellor
  • Ongoing counselling or signposting to other support if needed

Fees

  • Affordable counselling compared to private services
  • Same professional quality
  • Fees depend on personal circumstances
  • Standard fees start from £30 per session

Practitioners

Need to Talk is led by experienced, qualified practitioners who are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK’s leading counselling regulatory body.

Booking an appointment

Appointments are usually arranged by completing a pre-counselling form, which helps match you with the most suitable counsellor as quickly as possible.

Appointments and cancellations

If you can’t attend a session, please let the team know as early as possible. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in losing one of your sessions.

Your first session

Your first session is an opportunity to talk about why you’re seeking counselling and explore what support might work best for you. For some people, one session is enough. Others may benefit from ongoing counselling or being referred to additional support.
