What

We are available to offer specialist 1:1 and group Dance Movement Psychotherapy in your school.

Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) sessions offer disabled young people a creative space to explore and understand their experiences in the world alongside the support of a skilled professional. The therapist works creatively to address anxieties and fears, and seeks opportunities to develop communication, confidence and overall enhanced wellbeing.

DMP is a creative arts psychotherapy approach which offers children and young people an opportunity to explore their inner world in a safe, reflective environment through dance, movement and the body. Sessions are 40-50 min long and are delivered by a qualified DMP. Each is clinically supervised by experienced, registered therapists.

DMP Sessions are available for siblings too.

To discuss your schools needs please email info@icandance.org.uk

Through our specialist approach to dance and disability, icandance works with schools and arts organisations to inspire conversations around creative expression, inclusion and what it means to be different.

A partner school will need to provide a confidential space for sessions to take place. This space will need to be able to accommodate movement for 1:1 and/or groups.
