What

The Adult Team delivers training for professionals working with children and young people. Sessions are designed to:

  • Support day-to-day practice within your setting
  • Or provide standalone learning to build knowledge, confidence and skills
  • Help create a preventative and supportive response to gender-based abuse

Our Training Options

1. INSET Training (90 minutes)

Designed for educational professionals, these focused sessions cover key topics:

  • Basic Awareness of Domestic Abuse
  • Control and Coercion
  • Online Harms
  • Misogyny

What to expect:

  • Delivered online or in-person
  • CPD-accredited sessions
  • Builds knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to talk with children and young people
  • Helps create a safe, supportive, and preventative environment

Please note:

  • For all topics except Basic Awareness of Domestic Abuse, participants are asked to complete a short 2-page pre-reading
  • This ensures a shared baseline of understanding before the session

Funding & cost:

  • Funding may be available depending on your area
  • Where funding is not available, sessions can be delivered at cost

2. Extended Training (3 hours)

Suitable for:

  • Educational professionals
  • Youth professionals
  • Third-sector staff and volunteers working with children and young people

What the session covers:

  • Domestic abuse and coercive control
  • The impact of these experiences on children and young people
  • Contextual safeguarding and its importance in practice
  • Practical tools for talking to children and young people about gender-based abuse

What to expect:

  • Delivered online or in-person
  • CPD-accredited
  • Practical, discussion-based learning focused on real-world application

Funding & cost:

  • Funding may be available depending on your area and organisation type
  • Sessions can also be delivered at cost where funding is not available
