Early Years Fundamentals Webinar Series
About Project
The Early Years Fundamentals webinar series provides bite-size training on topics of key importance to professionals working with children aged 0-5. Each term, we will cover a theme, with several webinars, delivered monthly, included within that theme. This series is suitable for any professional working with children aged 0-5, such as those working in early years settings, perinatal mental health, infant mental health, CAMHS Under 5’s, social work and health visiting.
This year’s programme is:
Summer Term: Infant Development & Special Educational Needs
- 24 May: Toddler development & working with toddlers
- 21 Jun: Personal, social and emotional development
- 12 July: Supporting young children with special educational needs
Autumn Term: The Psychosocial Context: Culture, Race & Class
- 20 September: Supporting & working with parents/carers
- 18 October: Cultural attachment and culturally sensitive practice
- 15 November: Infant poverty and development
- 13 December: Racial socialisation and racialised trauma
These topics have been identified based on workforce development needs, through discussions with and requests from professionals and service managers across the Early Years and perinatal workforce.
The webinars are designed to provide an accessible overview of relevant psychological and social theories, the latest research and practical guidance to working with children in the Early Years and their parents and carers, to support the implementation of evidence-based best practices in your work. You can attend the webinars live, allowing for active participation in the Q&A session at the end, or you can register and you will be sent the recorded version to view for a limited time.
