What
Family Service
At Kids Can Achieve we are dedicated to empowering families of children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our FREE comprehensive support services are designed to help families navigate challenges, build confidence, and foster well-being.
One-to-One Support
Our Family Support Workers provide personalised help tailored to each family’s unique needs. Through individual in person or online sessions, we offer:
- Guidance: Help with completing forms, writing letters, and making phone calls to access necessary services.
- Self-Advocacy Support: Empowering families to effectively advocate for the rights and the needs of their children.
- Financial Assistance: Support with grant applications, benefit maximisation, and financial planning to ensure families receive all entitlements.
- School Liaison: Support with navigating school matters, including understanding SEND provisions, building confidence to engage with your child’s school or college, and effective communication with educators.
- Emotional Support: Needs-led emotional support to help families cope with the challenges of caring for a child with SEND.
Parent Group Sessions
We offer a variety of group of in person or online sessions aimed at building skills, building connections, and enhancing well-being:
- Learning sessions: topics such as child development, learning disability, autism, behaviour support and practical skills such as Makaton.
- Parent Corner: opportunities for parents to connect, share experiences, and build supportive relationships within the community.
- Well-Being Sessions: yoga, positive psychology, parent and child movement sessions.
Our sessions are developed based on feedback from families and common themes identified during one-to-one sessions, ensuring they meet the real needs of our community.
