What

The Trust and Middlesex University have come together to create this exciting and innovative Foundation Degree in Football Development & Coaching. Students will study at both Middlesex University and at the Trust in our state-of-the art facilities at Cedars Youth & Community Centre in Harrow. Our programme is very unique in that you get a University experience with Middlesex Uni but also industry experience with Watford FC Community Trust. We provide a really personal experience with small student cohorts and lots of support. You will be able to play football for the University on a Wednesday should you wish to and we are hoping to set up our own U21 league with other Football Trusts and Foundations that offer degree programmes in London and the South East. We deliver content on two days a week and you have the rest of the week for self-study, work or placements. In your 1st year, 3 of your modules are with the Trust at Cedars Youth and Community Centre in Harrow Weald and 1 is at Middlesex University in Hendon (Allianz Park campus). In year two it is a 50/50 split. As it’s a Foundation Degree you will have the option to top-up to a full BA (Hons) degree in year 3 which will be BA (Hons) Football Development & Coaching with Middlesex University. Students on our courses can gain work placements within our Watford FC Trust programmes in the community, with Watford FC Women and with our varied local partners including schools, football and other sports organisations as well. The Degree covers Football Development which is the project management side of football in the community schemes (using football as a vehicle to enhance or improve communities). Students also learn the coaching and science of football including nutrition, psychology, physiology, biomechanics and performance analysis so progression and employment opportunities are varied.
