What
Supportive session for parents/carers on gender diversity in neurodivergent youth - learn, ask, and build confidence in inclusive care.
Join us for an insightful session with Emily, the Specialist Adult Autism Team Lead at the Centre for ADHD and Autism Support (CAAS). With over a decade of experience working with neurodivergent individuals, Emily brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight to her role.
Many neurodivergent young people also explore or identify with gender identities beyond the traditional binary - and for parents and carers, this can raise questions, concerns, and a need for clarity and confidence.
This friendly and informative session will help you:
✨ Understand the difference between gender identity, gender expression, and biological sex
✨ Learn about pronouns and why they matter
✨ Explore why gender diversity is more common in the neurodivergent community
✨ Gain practical strategies for offering supportive, affirming care
✨ Build confidence in language, communication, and allyship
Whether you’re new to these ideas or looking to deepen your understanding, this training creates a safe, respectful space to learn, ask questions, and support your loved one in being their authentic self.
