What
This guide is a simplified guide for service delivery organisations on how to use an evaluation tool to analyse the impact of their project, specifically the difference it has made on participants’ emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
As service delivery organisations, understanding and effectively using evaluation measurement tools is essential for assessing the impact of the programmes and interventions you deliver to your beneficiaries. There are several measurement tools that service delivery organisations can use to track changes in participants' mental well-being over time, but in this guide we focus on the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scales (WEMWBS) to assess and measure positive mental health outcomes. Mainly due to its simplicity, as it comprises only 14 questions which can be added to, or replace, the original list of questions that service delivery organisations are planning to ask.
If you decide to use WEMWBS, please register here for a free licence (free for all non-profit organisations).
This guide offers practical steps for utilising WEMWBS in service delivery organisations’ monitoring process. This guide aims to cover the following areas:
- Understanding WEMWBS: An explanation of WEMWBS and the 14 questions that comprise it.
- Incorporating WEMWBS in your monitoring: How to seamlessly integrate WEMWBS into your monitoring process.
- Interpreting results: Guidance on making sense of the findings.
- Step-by-step implementation guide: A practical, step-by-step guide on how to use WEMWBS effectively.
