We deliver sessions during the school holidays
What
Horizon Youth and Community and Action has organised a series of workshops focusing on online safety, digital knowledge, mental health, and forming healthy online relationships, using interactive methods such as role-playing, debates, and discussions.
Sessions overview:
Online Safety and Wellbeing
- Session 1: Balancing online activities with everyday life, understanding online dangers.
- Session 2: Recognizing and reporting cyberbullying.
- Session 3: Managing screen time and its effects on mental health.
Protecting Personal Information and Privacy
- Session 1: Protecting personal information, social media safety, and creating strong passwords.
- Session 2: Identifying and preventing phishing and online scams.
Digital Knowledge and Reflective Thinking
- Session 1: Identifying fake news, misinformation, and fact-checking.
- Session 2: Recognizing extremist content and internet radicalization.
Forming Online Relationships
- Session 1: Developing healthy online relationships and avoiding sexting/grooming.
- Session 2: Recognizing tactics of gang recruitment and county lines.
Mental Health Mindfulness Programme
- Session 1: Peer photography training facilitated by an adult photographer.
- Session 2: Mindfulness walk at Bentley Priory, capturing nature, small group discussions, improving mental and physical wellbeing.
- Session 3: Feedback and reflection on experiences, with mental health support guidance.
Harrow Change Makers
After catching up with over 7,000 children and young people, we created a report on their thoughts and worries about growing up in Harrow. We started the Harrow Change Makers Grant Programme where amazing organisations in Harrow that support children and young people offer FREE activities tailor-made for them!
