Project availability
from 14 January 2025 to 31 May 2025
What
Our programme encourages young people to explore their thoughts, feelings, decisions, and actions, using creative art techniques for self-expression. As they progress, they also develop confidence, public speaking, and presentation skills by exploring other visual arts, performance, and sound art. This gives the young change makers a platform to share their stories and influence change.
We aim to identify 8-10 young people from Canons High School, specifically from Years 8-9 (13-15 years old). Additionally, 8 graduates from the 2024 programme will serve as Peer Mentors, developing their leadership skills while supporting the new cohort. They will assist with activities, encourage participation, and build teamwork and planning skills.
The group will focus on experiences related to safety, crime prevention, mental health, and neurodiversity, using spoken word, public speaking, performance, and presentation skills, supported by sound and visual art. Each participant will receive an art kit and access to online tutorials.
