What
My Yard is organising goal-setting sessions and regular mentor meetings, with a personalized calendar to track progress.
The program will offer 4 hours of weekly activity—2 hours of mentor-led focused activities and 2 hours of offsite visits to other youth projects, such as ‘Children with Voices’ and ‘LinkUp London,’ to observe how larger community-based initiatives work.
Project highlights:
- Leadership in Action: Participants will rotate in assisting with the younger group, applying leadership skills practically.
- Program Content: Includes physical exercise, work experience mentoring, life skills workshops (finance, business, study skills), mental health support, CV and LinkedIn help, interview practice, conflict resolution, and visits to the House of Parliament.
Application Process: Young people will be invited to join by creating a video, sending an email, or through an interview. Each participant will be assigned a mentor and have an individualized program that evolves through weekly sessions.
Harrow Change Makers
After catching up with over 7,000 children and young people, we created a report on their thoughts and worries about growing up in Harrow. We started the Harrow Change Makers Grant Programme where amazing organisations in Harrow that support children and young people offer FREE activities tailor-made for them!
