What
Our creative wellbeing workshops are tailored to meet the individual needs of young people, identified through a school referral process. Using structured art activities and guided tutorials, the programme provides a safe and supportive space for students to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through non-verbal and visual expression.
The workshops support young people to:
-
Develop strategies to manage challenges, emotions, and intrusive thoughts
-
Improve concentration, self-regulation, and emotional awareness
-
Build confidence, self-discipline, patience, and self-esteem
-
Overcome barriers to communication and self-expression
-
Recognise personal strengths and areas for growth
-
Increase awareness of visual and non-verbal communication
Programme Delivery
Each programme runs one day per week for six weeks and works with up to ten students identified by the school as benefiting from targeted support. This includes young people who are neurodivergent (diagnosed or undiagnosed) and/or experiencing anxiety, disordered eating, or low mood.
As part of the programme, each student receives:
- An individual art kit
- Access to guided art tutorials
- Self-help and mindfulness resources
Students are encouraged to use these resources between sessions and can keep their art kit at the end of the programme.
Sessions are delivered by two trained staff members to ensure safeguarding, effective observation, and evaluation. School staff are not required to attend, although participation is welcomed. We work closely with the school’s Safeguarding Lead and/or SENCO and provide weekly progress updates to support a collaborative approach. Schools are also encouraged to display students’ artwork, with selected pieces showcased in a future exhibition.
