What

Through our specialist approach to dance and disability, icandance works with mainstream and SEN schools to inspire conversations around creative expression, inclusion, wellbeing and what it means to be different in the world today.

For schools, icandance offers:

Dance Movement Psychotherapy: These sessions offer young people a creative space to explore and understand their experiences, address anxieties and fears, and develop enhanced wellbeing alongside the support of a skilled professional.

Performances: The inspiring disabled young people in our iam Dance Company visits and performs in schools using their innovative approach to dance.

Workshops: Our young people co-facilitate workshops that spark discussions about disability, diversity, difference, wellbeing and creativity. These workshops are available for mainstream (non-disabled) young people, disabled young people and parents and families of disabled young people.

Staff training: For staff and the school community, we offer informative trainings on our specialist approach in using creative and therapeutic tools. Through working with the body we strive to enhance, inclusion and wellbeing for staff and the school community.

Talks and assemblies: Our young people and team offer talks and presentations on diversity, inclusion and expression.
