What
London's Community Kitchen (LKC) has organised a HAF programme where children and young people will plant vegetables, herbs and plants at LKC's garden, reconnecting with where their food comes from, teaching them how it’s grown and cooked, and championing the importance of well-sourced ingredients, whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle. They will run an active bakery class and also add an Easter Egg hunt Q&A with the answers based on healthy and nutritional eating.
Activities are grouped into the following programme categories:
- Baking classes
- Planting and maintaining the plants
- Herbs & Vegetable planting & harvesting
- Easter Egg Hunt
About the Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) programme
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme is a Department for Education (DfE) funded programme of activities for children and young people aged 5-16 years, during the school holidays (Winter, Easter, and Summer). The programme offers a range of activities in Harrow, including some specialist SEND provisions. Places are free for children who meet the criteria, and a free nutritious meal is provided at each programme. More about the programme.
