What

Journey to Freedom Domestic Abuse Online Group Support Programme “The abuse ending was only the beginning of my Journey to Freedom. I had no idea, at the time that the Domestic Abuse had taken its toll on all areas of my life, most importantly on who I was as a human being. As I stepped into my life without abuse, I realised I had no idea who I was, what I wanted or how to move forward from my experiences. I became a victim of myself! Over the last 17 years I have dedicated myself to creating the life that I want and supporting others to do the same. I have come to realise that I am not the abuse, I am a woman of worth, I am a warrior woman! I have moved from self-hatred to self-love, I have broken the cycle, and we want you to feel empowered to do the same.” Ami Dave (Every Step Matters CEO) We are delighted to announce we have secured funding to run more of our groups for survivors of Domestic Abuse. - Are you ready to start your Journey to Freedom? - Are you ready to commit to yourself? - Are you ready to heal and move forward to a new life? - Are you ready to break the cycle of Domestic Abuse once and for all? If your answer is yes, we are ready to empower you! Our next group starts on Tuesday 9th March 2021 - 1 - 2.15pm With another to follow in early May 2021. Our commitment to you: - 10-week programme facilitated by two qualified therapists. - Weekly online sessions (Zoom) - Each session will deep dive into different topics and facilitated activities; addressing the emotional impact of abuse, creating the mindset for lasting change and empowering you to take action. - We want to support and empower you to break the cycle of Domestic Abuse and enable you to have healthy relationships. - Sessions will be confidential, and we will do all we can to ensure your safety, during sessions. Confidentiality and its boundaries will be discussed with you during our initial session. - The group will allow a space for us to learn from each other and share our experiences in an open, understanding, facilitated and safe environment. What we ask from you: - Attend all weekly sessions on time and show up for yourself. - Bring an open mind and heart. - A willingness to learn and create change. - Committing to the weekly activities and reflective exercises we provide during and after each session. - Acknowledging that you are the Change Maker, and you are responsible for what you will get from the group. We are your Change Facilitators; however, you are the only one with the power to create the change. The group experience can be an immensely powerful one and we find it allows for a lot of learning and growth, in a short period of time. Our groups normally fill very quickly so if this feels like a good fit for you please get in touch today. You will be invited to share, and you can share whatever you feel safe or comfortable sharing. You will not be forced to share anything you do not want to. You will not need to have your video turned on if you do not wish to do so, however we do ask that you have your video turned on when you enter group and for the weekly check-in, so that we can ensure the safety of the group. You can refer yourself or be referred by any professional supporting you. Referral forms for our services are available upon request at admin@everystepmatters.co.uk To discuss the support further or to refer yourself or somebody else please email Ami or Ashley at admin@everystepmatters.co.uk Please remember to let us know the best way to communicate with you. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.” Martin Luther King Jr.
