What
At Mind in Harrow we work with a team of young volunteers (aged 18-30) to deliver Wellbeing Workshops (plus assemblies and lessons) to 11-25 year olds.
Our Wellbeing Workshops aim to raise awareness about mental health and we focus on sharing techniques to build young peoples' resilience and self-esteem. Our inspiring volunteers build on their personal experiences to make the sessions relatable and impactful.
The workshops can take on various themes, we can talk in advance about what you are looking for and tailor accordingly. We often deliver workshops on:
- mental wellbeing awareness
- the 5 ways to wellbeing (5 ways to look after your mental health on a daily basis)
- stress and anxiety
- sleep
- substance misuse and wellbeing
- supporting your friends and family
Workshops are free for all education and youth settings in Harrow. Please enquire by emailing headsup@mindinharrow.org.uk
Nearly 7,000 children and young people have attended our workshops since 2018. Last year, they resulted in:
- Increased knowledge of emotional wellbeing among 89%
- Increased knowledge of coping strategies among 85%
- Increased confidence to support a friend among 85%
