What

This training will include valuable information on how to look after yourself, the warning signs of suicide, stigma, and how to hold safe conversations with someone at risk.

The training will cover:
- Looking after your own wellbeing
- Stigma around suicide and how to challenge it
- Groups at risk of suicide in your borough
- The signs you should look out for in others
- How to have safe conversations with people who may be suicidal.

The training will be run by Rethink.

You must read the below information and prepare accordingly.
- Delegates must attend the whole course.
- We urge you to consider your own wellbeing. Talking about suicide can understandably be triggering and upsetting. You might want to create a wellbeing plan in advance of the course or revisit your existing one. - Your own wellbeing is also covered as part of the training early in the course.
- You will be asked to complete a feedback form at the end of the session. This is really important for our work, and also how you receive your certificate. You will not receive a certificate of attendance if you do not complete the feedback form.
If you feel triggered by the training:
- You can contact the Samaritans 24/7 on 116 123.
- The trainer will be available immediately after the sessions for up to 30 mins to talk and listen if this is needed by any delegates.
Please note that the trainer cannot provide support during the training – for this reason please consider what you might do in this situation in advance of the course.
