What

A strong Early Help System is made up of different types of practitioners and services who operate as one. Harrow’s Early Help vision includes establishing a Team Around the Family (TAF) for identified families who have several needs and would benefit from professionals working together to develop a family plan.

Description

This session is aimed at those who work with children and young people and their families in Harrow.

The course explores what a Team Around the Family (TAF) is, which families might benefit from one and how to initiate a TAF. The course also explores the roles of professionals within the TAF including the identification of a Lead Practitioner and the use of the Harrow TAF paperwork called a Family Plan.

This session will support professionals to ensure the child, young person and their family remain central to decisions made about them or their care.

Outcomes

• Understand the Team Around the Family approach for Harrow families
• Be familiar with Harrow TAF consent forms and the Family Plan paperwork which capture the work of the TAF
• Feel confident to contribute to a Family Plan as a member of a TAF
• Understand the purpose and responsibilities of the Team Around the Family as a whole and what you/your agency will be able to contribute to a family plan
• Understand the role of Lead Practitioner and feel confident to take on this role if identified by a family

Booking Information

This is an in-person session and access to the venue will require a code from the training providers. This should be emailed to you prior to the session.

Attendees are to arrive 10-15 minutes beforehand as the trainers will need to escort you.
