About Project

PRINTMAKING: allowing young people to access different creative art techniques that are not readily available in most schools, with a focus on wellbeing, learning new skills and equalising the balance between private schools and state.

We deliver printmaking-based workshops both at the Museum and in outreach to various Primary Schools throughout the Borough on different printmaking techniques, which are rarely accessible in state schools. The process of printmaking is a particularly important creative form as it does not necessarily depend on a person’s ability to draw or paint and therefore provides a creative outlet for a wider range of young people. Our sessions allow young people to gain a broad understanding of creative printmaking, working on self-expression and self-discovery to help pinpoint their individual passions and interests and give them a voice.

The techniques available include: linocut, dry point, collagraph, and monoprint.

This can be done as part of Arts Award.
