Harlesden Heritage Action Zone Youth Cohort
Young Brent Foundation is leading a new project to celebrate Harlesden's arts, culture, community & heritage. The Harlesden Heritage Action Zone (HHAZ) Youth Cohort will be formed from a group of young people aged between 16 – 25, who have a connection with Harlesden and an interest in the arts, culture and change-making. These young people will be on the correct pathway if wanting to become the next upcoming artists, activists, producers, and leaders in the community.
We would like to hear from you if you are interested in any of the following:
- Performing arts (Performance and Creation)
- Sound/Production
- Visual/Digital art
- Fashion - Costume Design
- Creative writing/Journalism
- Marketing
- Event planning/Facilitation
- Tackling social Issues in a creative way
Opportunities:
The Youth Cohort will be central to the project in the following ways.
- Part taking in decision making for the proposed projects
- Supporting our partners and key stakeholders in delivering projects
- Creating, managing, and organising individual projects that celebrate the Harlesden community of the past, present and future.
- Highlight social issues faced by the local community who live, work, study, or visit Harlesden.
What will you receive?
- Training, mentoring and talks from industry professionals, working in the arts, community and business sectors.
- Work experience placements with local organisations.
- The opportunity to network, increase your experience, grow your CV
- Gain the opportunity to share your art
- Free tickets to shows and additional incentives
Commitment we need from you,
- Must attend the weekly meet up for Training and Workshop project creations
- Full commitment to the program - held on Saturdays, commencing 09/04/22 – 31/03/23
- Location for weekly sessions TBC
