Far Far Away Volunteer Workshop Assistant
Person Specification: Volunteer with proven interest in working within a charity or youth arts environment. For this particular block, we are looking for someone with experience in digital theatre making both live and pre-recorded. Preferably DBS checked.
Hours: 1 day per week (Tuesdays). From 4:15 to 6:30 this includes 30 min team preparation before the session, 75 minutes of session and 30 minutes team feedback after each session) *the sessions may be elongated to 90 minutes
Time Period: from the 20th April until the 13th of July
Salary: unpaid voluntary position

Role:
You will support SPID Theatre’s Far Far Away online workshops for participants aged 8-13 years old on Zoom. This is a key role within the organisation and requires a high level of motivation, enthusiasm and energy, plenty of patience and a consistently approachable manner. You will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team and have an ability to think creatively. Previous experience of working with 8-13 year-olds is ideal but not necessary; workshop facilitation experience would be desirable and particularly experience in digital theatre making both live and pre-recorded
Tasks:
– Assisting the workshop facilitators during the sessions to deliver productive, engaging, inclusive, safe and enjoyable sessions on zoom.
– You will also assist the workshop facilitator leading warm-up games or leading small groups in breakout rooms through storytelling exercises
– On the 13th July the young people will deliver a showcase of the work they achieved, performed for an online audience (friends, family and members of the community).
You will be needed the following Tuesdays from 16:15 to 18:30 on Zoom:
20th, 27th, April, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th May, 15th, 22nd, 29th, June, th, 13th July
