YHF and Harrow School Fundraising Bike ride

To our utmost appreciation, Harrow School has raised £31,000 from their school parental community that have been able to fund 16 member organisations to deliver a wide variety of summer projects between now and September 2020.

The need to support disadvantaged individuals and families has never been greater as we come out of COVID-19 lockdown. The impact of the pandemic reveals how bad it has been and will be for so many people yet to come.

As such, it is to our greatest honour that Harrow School will be organising their annual Long Ducker Bike Ride on 6 Sept 2020 to raise funds for Young Harrow Foundation & other charities. And we would like to invite you to join us!

This year, the Long Ducker Ride will comprise a Long (100 miles), Medium (70 miles) and Short cycle route (40 Miles). Cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part in one of the 3 fully supported rides starting and finishing at Harrow School.

Long Ducker’s main recipient in 2020 will be Young Harrow Foundation. Half of the money raised will be given to YHF to support charities helping young people coping with the fallout from the COVID-19 crisis. The other half will be used to support marginalised people across North West London via the Harrow Club (a youth club in the shadow of the Grenfell Tower) and other educational and charitable organisations. This money will be targeted to support vulnerable people who have been hit hardest by the pandemic.

Let’s make a difference coming out of lockdown with this awesome opportunity to kick start your post COVID-19 health plan and help those stricken by the pandemic at the same time. And let’s get our friends & family together for a great day out.

To add to the experience we can confirm that our feed station in the Chilterns for the Long and Medium rides will be at West Wycombe Park, home of the Dashwood family for over 300 years. It promises to be a great day of cycling with significantly more hills than previous years so do endeavour to do some training in advance.
