Build Back Better 2021 Grant Programme
The program featured two funding strands. The first, a larger grant of up to £8,000, targeted organizations offering specialized services such as mental health support, addressing youth violence, and working with highly disadvantaged young individuals. The second, a smaller grant of up to £3,000, was open to groups providing a range of more general activities and support.
In a commitment to sustainability and aiding organizations in navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic, support was extended towards existing salaries. This holistic approach not only ensured a variety of projects for children and young people but also aimed to help organizations withstand the pressures and constraints of the ongoing pandemic.
1,854 children and young people took part in activities from February to December 2021
All the activities were based on five key areas of support identified in the 2021 Needs Analysis ‘This is Harrow’ informed by the perspectives of more than 4,000 children and young people in Harrow. The key areas of support were:
- Mental and Emotional Well-being
- Youth Voice
- Employment Opportunities
- Inequalities
- Being Active
