Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme 2025
Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme 2025
In 2025, £618,336 was distributed through 61 grants, with 100% of available places filled across all delivery periods. The programme was delivered through a hybrid model, with 78% of provision led by grassroots community organisations and 22% by schools and private providers.
During the main school holidays, we supported a total of 7,115 children and young people, including 6,389 primary-aged and 726 secondary-aged participants, through high-quality, inclusive programme delivery.
Demand for places remained consistently high, and in every holiday period the programme exceeded delivery expectations by at least 15%, reflecting both strong community need and the effectiveness of our delivery model. While the programme continues to make progress in engaging SEND and secondary-aged participants, these groups remain a key focus for improvement. Although we have seen gradual progress, further work is needed to ensure equitable access for all children and young people. programme.
Moving from a single food provider to allowing delivery partners to offer meals helped better reflect Harrow’s cultural diversity. This resulted in a wider range of culturally appropriate food options, making food a positive and valued part of the HAF experience.
External fundraising further strengthened the programme, enabling additional places for non-FSM vulnerable children. This was made possible through the support of partners, including Harrow School, The DVS Foundation, Help Harrow, Orley Farm School, John Lyon School, Yuga Collective and other local educational institutions.
