Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme 2022

Looking back at our three Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes in 2022, we are extremely pleased with the high-quality provision and support offered to Harrow’s young people and families. Harrow, much like the rest of London, is still reeling from the pandemic's detrimental impact and under pressure due to the ongoing cost of living crisis.

As the number of Free School Meals (‘FSM’) recipients continues to grow, there is a huge need for a programme like HAF that brings young people together, promotes healthy eating, safety and social inclusion, and also connects families with schools and other services.

7,249 Children and young people attended HAF programmes in 2022, including young people with SEND needs. This was achieved through 80 grants to 32 organisations across the 3 programmes (Easter, Summer and Winter).

Participants tried new foods, made new friends, played sports, explored the great outdoors, got involved in singing, dancing, creating musicals, arts and crafts and visited attractions outside Harrow such as the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, the Science Museum, and more.
