Compassionate Bereavement Support for Over 35 Years

Bereavement Care is a trusted local charity dedicated to providing high-quality bereavement support to adults, children, and young people across the London Boroughs of Harrow, Hillingdon, and surrounding areas. For over 35 years, we have offered compassionate, professional care to anyone in need, regardless of age, gender, background, or beliefs.

Founded in 1981 as the Harrow Churches Bereavement Visiting Scheme (HCBVS) through the Anglican Harrow Deanery, we became an independent charity in 2000 (Registered Charity Number 1081257) and later rebranded as Harrow Bereavement Care.

Specialist Support for Children and Young People

We have a strong commitment to supporting children and young people through grief. Our bereavement services extend to schools across the borough, working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and families to provide tailored emotional support. We offer one-to-one and group sessions in schools, helping young people express their feelings and navigate the grieving process in a safe and understanding environment.

Community-Based Bereavement Support

Our team of approximately 150 dedicated volunteers provides vital emotional support through community-based bereavement groups in medical centres, churches, synagogues, and other local organisations. Each group is guided by an experienced bereavement visitor who offers supervision and support to ensure compassionate care for every client.

You Are Not Alone

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, or if you would like to get support for a young person or family experiencing loss, our support services are completely free, and we are here to listen.
