A quiet corner of Harrow was full of energy last week as 240 local pupils swapped the classroom for the outdoors, turning Harrow School Farm into a living, breathing outdoor classroom for the first time in years.

For many families, the festive season can bring extra pressure, increased costs, and fewer affordable options. Many children miss out. That’s why we were proud to bring back Harrow Winter Wonderland, as part of Harrow Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. This initiative was delivered in partnership with MAGNA Group and funded by Harrow Council and the Department for Education.

The Change Makers programme, delivered in Harrow by local activity providers like Watford FC Community Sport and Education Trust, supports young people who may be facing challenges that affect their confidence, resilience and ability to thrive.

Harrow Change Makers is a local funding partnership that backs projects shaped around the real concerns of young people in Harrow. Through the programme, funders support organisations that help children and young people stay safe, improve their wellbeing and stay connected to education and opportunity.

Hot meals, activities and festive fun included

London Sport has clearly outlined the challenge: over half of young Londoners are not meeting the recommended daily physical activity levels. Throughout the capital, more than 7,000 "No Ball Games" signs restrict the very spaces that children might use to move, play, and connect. The message is straightforward: make everyday play easier for families in their local areas.

Following a record-breaking year in 2024, Harrow’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme is back this summer with over 1,500 free spaces available for local children and young people. Delivered by Young Harrow Foundation in partnership with Harrow Council and funded by the Department for Education, the programme offers free activities, nutritious meals, and safe spaces for young people to thrive during the school holidays.

In the heart of Harrow Town Centre, Victoria Hall is emerging as one of the borough’s most dynamic community spaces. With new leadership and a renewed vision, the venue is evolving from a traditional hireable hall into an active and engaged partner in making a local impact.

Families in Harrow can now sign their children up for an exciting range of free holiday activities and nutritious meals this Easter, thanks to the Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme. Funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and coordinated by Harrow Council and Young Harrow Foundation.
