Hotspot Food

Hotspot Community Café is based in the heart of the Rayners Lane estate in the Beacon Community Centre. There are two parts to the business Hotspot Food & Hotspot Community CIC.

The CIC part provides activities/ projects for various community groups all enhanced with food. For the past 7 years and have built some great relationships and trust within the local community and other service providers. Throughout Covid, we supported the local community with over 7000 free hot nutritious meals.

We work closely with Homegroup Housing Association and Ignite Trust and currently offer the following projects:

• Older person Chair Pilates: afternoon tea – attended by 65 people weekly.
• Young Females Group: safe space with weekly & discussions & activities supported by healthy food buffets.
• HAF Holiday Playschemes offering Cooking on a Budget session, Healthy Cookery, Bake Off, Pizza Workshop, cost of living sessions and hot nutritious meals for up to 30 children daily.
• Basketball Session for young men – working with Ignite healthy buffet.
• Community Warm Hub– Weekly space includes a food bank with food from London Community Kitchen and a hot meal for up to 100 people.
• Restore project: - young men at risk of mental health – sports session and then a hot meal served around the table like having dinner at home with a therapist.

Over the years we have built excellent relationships & partnerships with other organisations including Homegroup, Ignite Trust, Young Harrow Foundation, Mayors Fund for London, Kitchen Social, Tesco, and London Community Kitchen.
