About Project

As part of the new Heads Up Harrow project, Paiwand provides individual counselling services for young people respect, and work with, the cultural and linguistic needs of refugees and asylum seekers.

The sessions help young people manage stress, build self-esteem and resilience.

Importantly, we provide people with the opportunity to be heard and receive help in their own language, where possible, or in English. We provide talking therapies in Dari, Farsi, Pashtu and English.

Our purpose is to help young refugees and asylum seekers to feel empowered to deal with their psychological difficulties by providing specialist counselling, psychotherapy and support.

Young people can receive up to 12 sessions for common issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.

Sessions are 1 hour long, by appointment Monday-Friday in Paiwand's offices, or at our other outreach sites in Harrow. Please submit an enquiry form in order to arrange an initial consultation.

Project runs daily
from 08:30 to 19:30 on weekdays

During: School Term

Excluding: School Holidays & Bank Holidays
