What

Go Backstage is a brand-new career focused project for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities at mainstream secondary schools.

It helps to introduce young people to the wide range of backstage and technical careers in theatre.

Students work with theatre professionals in backstage or technical roles to learn about Directing, Set, Sound and Lighting design in a series of workshops in your school and at theatres.

During these workshops, students will learn valuable skills in teamwork and leadership as well as the practical skills needed to further their interests in backstage roles.

The project includes a trip to see a show in the West End and a trip to a theatre to find out first-hand about the roles being learnt about.

Participation in the project is free. Tickets for the theatre trip are priced at £10 per ticket.
