What
Harrow Horizons is an emotional well-being service for families, delivered by Anna Freud. The service offers support to children and young people from 0 to 18, and up to 25 for young people with special needs. This includes early intervention for those at risk of homelessness and other harmful behaviours.
The service provides:
- Brief evidence-based interventions
- Individual and group parenting support programmes
- Parent webinars on common issues of need
- Individual consultations
Support for families
Short-term, goal-focused, evidence-based interventions (such as CBT) for children and young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties with anxiety, low mood and challenging behaviour / behavioural difficulties
- Interventions may be individual or group based
- Please note, that whilst Harrow Horizons assesses all referrals on a case by case basis, for referrals for children under 12, the parent/carer will usually be offered a intervention that both parent and child attend (we do not offer 1:1 intervention under 12)
- We support families through referrals that can be made by young people, parents/carers, schools and professionals.
Support for professionals
- Consultation to parents/carers and professionals to offer support and clinical advice
Access Harrow Horizons
- The young person and/or their parent/carer, parents/carers and families will have agreed to the referral and are willing to engage with Harrow Horizons
- The child/young person must live in Harrow home address, attend a Harrow school and/or must be registered with a Harrow GP
- The child/young person must be aged 0-18 (25 if they have a disability)
There is an exception for children who are Looked After by Harrow Local Authority or who have a Harrow EHCP.
