Following positive feedback last year, the Harrow Public Health team are organising another series of workshops on using data to reduce health inequalities. Please share this link and invite colleagues within your networks who may be interested. We will record the sessions for people who can’t make these times.

Each session will be held online and in-person. Sessions will be 1.5 hours to allow some time for discussions and to ask questions. They are informal and open to colleagues with all levels of experience. Please feel free to drop in and eat your lunch, just listen, or take the opportunity to ask questions, or share your experience.

Sessions:

• 15th May from 12pm to 1.30pm - Communicating messages effectively – narrative, visualisation and infographics
  Delivered by Ester Romeri & Sandy Miller. This session will introduce how to summarise and communicate data effectively and clearly to diverse audiences. The focus will be on infographics and their use, as well as creating custom data driven images.
• 30th May from 2pm to 3.30pm - Reaching Communities and Co-production
  Delivered by Alex Buckmire, James Connell & Charlie David. This session will cover different aspects of identifying communities, enhancing engagement, and co-production.
• 17th June from 1pm to 2.30pm - Whole systems Integrated Care (WSIC)
  Delivered by Ester Romeri. This session is on finding open data for population health, this webinar will explore WSIC. The session will introduce how to access and navigate dashboards, discuss possibilities in these (e.g.: segmentation and stratification) and how these can be utilised for various needs (e.g.: for JSNA and commissioning purposes), with consideration for particular sub-populations (e.g.: children and young people, the elderly, or those with special education needs and disabilities). Moreover, the benefits of linking Council and NHS data will also be discussed.
• 19th July from 12pm to 1.30pm - Evaluation
  Delivered by Seb Baugh & Sandy Miller. The session will explore standardising our approach, quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods, and survey design. Moreover, health economics will be introduced through practical examples. Opportunities for external training (e.g.: via NIHR or CRN) and influencing data capture will also be explored.
• 6th August from 2pm to 3.30pm - Survey design and implementation
  Delivered by Sandy Miller. Introduction to survey design, including developing clear and robust questions, advantages and disadvantages of different platforms and methods of administration, and analysis of results alongside other data.
• 20th September from 2pm to 3.30pm - Statistics and Analytical Methods
  Delivered by Ester Romeri. Using rates, prevalence, crude percentage, standardisation, including the advantages of using confidence intervals.
