Birkdale Trust for Hearing Impaired
The Trust supports UK-based activities that:
- Advance the education of children and young people, particularly those with a hearing impairment.
- Support organisations that promote the welfare of hearing-impaired children and young people.
The Trust has a small amount of funding for organisations.
Although funding is at the discretion of the Trustees, most grants are for between £300 and £2,500 with a few larger grants made to exceptional applications.
Groups, educational establishments and charities in the UK are eligible to apply.
Funding is available for the following:
- Assistance with the purchase of specialist hearing equipment or other aids which will benefit an individual or organisation.
- The provision of funding for special courses individual tuition or speech therapy.
- Support for professional assessments and advice or support for appeals against local authorities.
- The financial support of another charity for the hearing impaired.
- Special projects.
The Trustees meet six times per year to consider applications and all submissions will be considered at the first available meeting.
Application forms are available to download from the Trust's website. Completed forms should be returned to the Trust by post and include a pre-stamped self-addressed envelope for a reply.
