About Organisation

Synergy Theatre Project aims to aid rehabilitation and reintegration into society by supporting the continuing personal development of prisoners, ex-prisoners and young people at risk of offending through the provision of theatre performance opportunity and other related activities while placing the wider issues surrounding imprisonment in the public arena. The work is founded on the belief that theatre can be transformative and challenges perceptions of prisoners, young people and society, building a more positive future.

Synergy’s Young People's Programme aims to engage the young people who are most at risk of entering, or have already entered, the criminal justice system through high quality, theatre-based activities delivered by professional practitioners supported by trained ex-prisoner facilitators whose first-hand experience of the consequences of criminal activity helps inform the work.

The programme reaches over 3,000 young people each year through annual touring productions performed by ex-prisoner and professional actors, workshops and bespoke longer-term creative projects with specific high risk groups exploring crime-related themes.

Please get in contact if you wish to discuss booking bespoke workshops, longer-term projects or booking a production.
