What
Our weekly sessions for disabled children aged 4-11, take place during term time on Saturdays between 10am to 2pm. Our specialist approach is built on three crucial components: wellbeing, creativity and learning.
- 10:00-10:45am: ages 4-6
- 11:00-11:45am: ages 7-8
- 12:00-12:45pm: ages 8-9
- 1:00-1:45pm: ages 10-11
When a child joins icandance through self-referral or via other professional recommendations, we firstly focus on building their emotional security and trust. Each dancer is assigned a team member as their dance partner, who works with them consistently each week, building a relationship with the child and their family over time.
Using verbal and non-verbal interventions we support the child to feel safe enough to creatively explore through movement and develop their curiosity within the dance space. The dancer’s wellbeing forms their roots to developing at icandance and offers a secure foundation for the dancer’s creative explorations and learning of new skills.
