What
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is tailored for youth workers, teachers, and those supporting children—giving you the confidence and practical skills to respond calmly and effectively in an emergency.
Through hands-on, engaging training, you’ll learn how to recognise and respond to situations that can arise when working with young people, from minor injuries to life-threatening incidents.
This one-day training course provides essential skills and knowledge to help individuals respond effectively to first aid emergencies in the workplace. The certification is typically the minimum standard required for first aiders in low-risk work environments.
Assessment: Continuous observation by the trainer & quiz based knowledge review.
Certification: Successful candidates receive a Certificate valid for three years.
What you’ll learn:
- Role of a First Aider, Communication & Casualty care, Health & Safety regulations
- Adult resuscitation (CPR) access and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- An unresponsive casualty, assessment & appropriate protocol.
- Adult Choking
- Burns & Scalds
- Minor & severe bleeding, Shock, Seizures
Whether you're in a school, youth club, or community setting, this training will help you feel prepared, confident, and ready to act when it matters most.
About Level Up Youth Work
Level Up Youth work is a training and development programme to fund both general training and youth work qualifications over the next three years. The programme is free and aimed at those working directly with children and young people in Northwest London.
